Brown Recluse Spiders and Wolf Spiders

One of Oklahoma's most common and dangerous pests is the Brown Recluse Spider (pictured lower left). The very dangerous spider goes by many names: "Fiddle-back", "Violin Spider", and "Recluse Spider." Although the spider's bite often starts resembling a pimple or mosquito bite, it quickly turns nasty from the corrosive venom. The ensuing symptoms are nausea and extreme sickness. Note the "Fiddle" or "Violin" shape on the "head" not the "back" of the spider. Pictured below right: the wolf spider. Spider Programs...

Black Widow Spiders (often confused with other spiders)

The VERY poisonous Black Widow Spider can be found throughout much of the United States, especially the warmer areas. Though the male rarely bites humans, the venom of the female is highly toxic. It is a fact that the female sometimes kills and eats the male after reproduction. Many other spiders are often confused with the Black Widow including the zipper or "zig zag" spider, the cupboard spider, cobweb weavers, and many of the jumping spider family (pictured below to the right).Spider Exterminator Services...
