The philosophy of A-1 American and Termite is the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies. Instead of the outdated idea of just "spraying and praying" for spider control or termite extermination, it is our belief that customers want maximum control with a minimum of use chemicals in the environment. A-1 American began operating in 1997 with one truck and the belief that brown recluse "fiddle-back" spiders could be controlled. At that time, many pest control companies would not even offer services for brown recluse spiders. Of those that did, most would require the occupants to evacuate the structure in order to "fog" the attic and living space. Most commonly applied treatments would prove ineffective and often cause the pest activity to increase, making it appear that there were even more spiders. A-1 initiated a radically different approach - our "bait and barrier" system.How is A-1 American Pest Service different than other Pest Companies
In our new approach we first create a barrier with the exterior perimeter treatment of a structure to prevent spiders and other insects access to the inside. Next, we find the cracks and crevices where spiders and insects live and apply low-to-no-odor residual products, thus eliminating the harborage areas. We then follow with insect baiting for better and longer control, including pest reduction of the "nest." We often found the spider population reduced because we conaminated and eliminated the food source. Also, A-1 chose to use a low-odor residual treatment of the attic space and crawl space areas to reduce populations and further restrict pest entry inside the structure. And finally, we prefer tthe use of micro-encapsulate residual treatments so that each application would be virtually odorless and endeavor to keep chemical exposure to a minimum.You can't argue with our success!
