About A-1 American Elite

A-1 American Pest & Lawn is a division of A-1 American Enviro-Tech Pest Prevention, Inc. A-1 American is a corporation based in Tulsa, OK. Our main purpose is to provide residential and commercial pest control service.

While our specialty is providing customers with control measures for brown recluse spiders, we also offer service for most other pests. Some of our other services include termite applications, termite baiting systems, quarterly pest maintenance programs, and consultation for pest prevention.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of A-1 American is the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Strategies. Instead of the outdated idea of just "spraying and praying" for insect control, it is our belief that customers want maximum control with a minimum of chemical exposure in their environment. Hence, the use of IPM, where we consider all the factors affecting a pest problem, including sanitation, baiting, trapping, competition of food, sealing access points, perimeter applications, etc. A-1 American truly wants to "Safeguard your environment with cutting edge technology."

Our History

A-1 American Pest began operating in 1997 with one truck and the belief that brown recluse "fiddle-back" spiders could be controlled. At that time, many pest control companies would not provide service for brown recluse spiders. Of those that did, most would require the occupants to evacuate the structure in order to "fog" the attic and living space. Usually, "fogging" would prove ineffective and often cause the pest activity to increase, making it appear that there were even more spiders. A-1 offered a radically different approach - a "bait and barrier" system.

First, treat the exterior perimeter of a structure to prevent spiders and other insects access to the inside. Next, find the cracks and crevices where spiders and insects live and apply low-to-no-odor residual products, thus eliminating harborage areas. Follow that with insect baiting for better and longer control, including pest reduction of the "nest." Also, A-1 chose to use a low-odor residual treatment of the attic space and crawl space areas to reduce populations and further restrict pest entry inside the structure. Additionally, we preferred to use micro-encapsulate residual treatments so that each application would be virtually odorless and endeavor to keep chemical exposure to a minimum.

We were successful! With well over 500 satisfied customers, we believe we are the "Brown Recluse Spider Specialists."

About the Owners

David & Cindy Emerson have owned and managed several businesses as well. David brings construction experience to the company along with almost 10 years of pest control experience. Previous to starting A-1 American, he was a manger at one of the larger locally owned pest services in Tulsa. David has made the Brown Recluse Spider the focus of his pest service career. Additionally, he has an extensive education in computer hardware, programming, and applications. David is in charge of business technology as well as most of the sales, marketing, and the company offers.
